I have had the perfect illustration today to the above topic. I started my article as I usually do but this time was different. I couldn’t find the necessary tool bar anywhere so I couldn’t start my article. Another illustration of not knowing what to do when you simply want to glorify God. How many people have been or are in the same situation? You want to glorify God but you don’t know how or where to start. You may be living alone, most likely without transport and you feel so helpless especially when you read the command like Matthew 28:16-20 where our Lord tells us to “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit”. We had already witnessed mixed emotions before this command was even given. In verse 17 when they saw Jesus; they worshipped Him, but some doubted. Jesus made no distinction between the worshippers and the doubters, He simply said “GO”. Now that is enough to send shivers down your spine for a start let alone being house bound and unable to “GO”. Then you read a passage like Matthew 9:37 where Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few”. Now that really tugs at your heart strings! It certainly did for Jesus, notice in verse 36 “When Jesus saw the crowds, He had compassion on them because they were harassed and helpless like sheep without a shepherd”. “Here am I” you say, “Feeling the same way as those who need saving – harassed and helpless in my situation!”. The good news is, that you don’t have to be that way at all no matter how isolated you feel. Notice Jesus had compassion on the crowds, He was teaching us to look outward and not to dwell on our own circumstances. Paul told the Romans, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Rom 12:2). Peter reminds us to “Prepare your minds for action” (1 Peter 1:13), does that include me in my unique situation? Yes; it does, when you have compassion for others and you have trained your mind to look outward to the needs of others, with the purpose to glorify God and not for the praise of men then your mind has been truly transformed. Jesus said in Matthew 10:42, “And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth he will certainly not lose his reward”. But we don’t stop there; we keep on looking for ways to glorify God. Jesus knows your situation, He also knows there is always someone you can help, through prayer, a phone call, an e-mail or a letter of encouragement etc. When I was told I only had a certain amount of time to live, I began to feel helpless and harassed after such an active life doing the Lord’s work, I knew I needed to stop and pray to God, “Lord, help me to understand I can’t do what I used to do but in the time you have given me according to your grace help me to glorify your precious name”. God has certainly answered that prayer and He will do the same for you no matter how isolated you may feel God can use you for His glory and you can have the peace that passes all understanding (Phil 4:7).

Now is the time to let our light shine in the world!
This is an unprecedented time in history where people are fearing for their lives! What better time than now to tell people there is a hope beyond death. Death is not the end for followers of Jesus Christ, it is the beginning!
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear…” – 1 John 4:18
Christians, let’s show love to our neighbors and those who are stuck in their homes!
1. Get on Facebook (or something social) and post that you are a Christian and encourage others, ask them if they have needs or prayer requests, tell them about Jesus!
3. Read your Bible!
4. Let your neighbors know you are not afraid and there to help in any way possible!
5. Put a sign out front telling people you are a Christian and are available for prayers, help or Bible study!
6. Do a Bible study on Facebook (or elsewhere)!
7. Lead a prayer walk in your city! Fill the streets with Christians who are not afraid of death!
8. Let’s go all out to help the world know there is a peace that passes understanding in Jesus Christ!
“What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops” Jesus said in Matthew 10:27
I will start…
Hey everyone! I am a follower of Jesus Christ. I am not ashamed of this! I am not afraid because Jesus, the Son of God is with me!
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:8
If you are scared there is hope and a solution to your fear, Jesus Christ!
Are you stuck at home? Take this time to read the Bible (online or the one in your house if you have one!) Read Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Acts! Find out about Jesus.
Listen…there are only two things, either I am crazy for saying and believing this or I am not crazy 🙂 IF there is a chance I am NOT crazy, isn’t it worth investigating? What else do you have to do today if you are banned from restaurants, schools, etc 🙂
I am more than happy to pray for and with you, help with your needs or study the Bible with you! Please let me know, I am very happy to help in any way I can because God loves you, it’s why He sent his Son!
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” – John 3:16-17
